The University of Alaska has recently upgraded its Internet dial-up service in cooperation with ACS. This service provides a significant improvement over the previous dial-up system by offering easier setups, less busy signals and faster connections.

Current UA dial-up users: In order to use this service, all current users of the UA dial-up system must convert their accounts to an ACS account, also known as a Radius account. Conversions can be done at the Radius Account Creation page https://yukon.alaska.edu/cgi-bin/radius_create

If you receive the error: "Failure: username@ua Radius account already exists,"  while creating your account, it means your account has already been created.

NOTE: If you convert your account, or if your account has already been created, you should reset your password at https://yukon.alaska.edu . Once reset, you password will be valid for 6 months. Expired accounts can be reset at this same address.

The third step of the conversion is to configure your computer using the ACS Radius dial-up instructions at http://technology.uaa.alaska.edu/kb/Computer/Network/ . Once you’ve configured your computer, you can begin using the service.

The current UA dial-up system will be unavailable September 30th.

New account requests: To request an account please contact the UAA IT Services Call Center at 786-4646 option 2, outside of Anchorage 1-877-633-3888 option 2. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7am to 7pm.

The following individuals are eligible for a dial-up account:

• Students – currently registered for at least 1 credit.
• Staff - part-time or full-time regular staff.
• Faculty - adjunct and regular faculty.
