Getting Organized for the New Semester!

Upon the start of a new academic year, we want to feel fresh, prepared and organized. As we prepare our classrooms, dormrooms and offices, we might also want to remember our computer.

This fall consider a thorough cleaning of your computer system. Get rid of your old email messages, empty your email trash folder, organize your files, archive important information and give your computer a good physical cleaning. Here are some important questions to consider:

When is the last time you backed up your system? Has your printer been cleaned recently? Are you running the most updated version of Norton Antivirus? Is your keyboard free of debris? When was the last time you went through all of your email? Do you have important information secured for historical purposes? How often do you check to ensure that your surge protector is functioning? Have you ever had a technician open your computer case and clean out the dust and cobwebs?

If you have not gotten to these things in the last 12 months you are tempting fate! The IT Desktop Team is just a phone call away. Our team of highly trained technicians is available to assist you with your spring cleaning efforts.

Taking steps now to maintain and clean your system and protect important files will help you avoid unexpected failures and technical service costs. Spare yourself the agony of losing important documents. Take the time now to ask yourself these questions and take steps to do those things that haven't been done recently.  For information on our rates and to schedule your appointment for service, contact the IT Services Call Center, 786-4646, option 2. A technician will be happy to create a work order for all of your computer-related cleanup needs.
