In an effort to accommodate student technology needs that go beyond the 37 Supported Labs, the UTC offers a new Block Grant program. Block grants are made to individual colleges and schools with the expectation that these funds will be used to provide services or facilities that directly benefit students. Funding is based on each college's total credit hour count. Major college units include CTC, College of Education, CBPP, CAS, and CH&SW.

To qualify for a block grant, each organization submits a year-end impact report which summarizes how funds were actually spent and the benefit received by students.
