Your Username can be used to:
- Access email - your email address will be your Username@uaa.alaska.edu. For more information on email see the Email FAQ
- Log into Blackboard.
Blackboard is UAA's online course system. - Use the campus Computer Labs.
Campus computer labs are equipped with the Microsoft Office suite including: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Labs include both Dell and Macintosh desktops. Web design tools and scanners are also available in each lab. - Access the UAA Consortium library databases.
Library databases can be viewed within the UAA network without a password. When retrieving information off-campus, please have your username and password ready.
Usernames are automatically created for students registered for at least 1 credit. Please allow 2 business days following registration for your account to be created. If you don't know your UAA Username, you can find it using the Username Lookup form on the left.
All other username types (staff, faculty, Departmental, Student Club, and WWAMI) must be requested using the Username Request Form. Staff and Faculty accounts can only be created if your employee information is current in Banner. See your department for details.
Your default password is "uaa" in lower-case letters, followed by your initials first, middle and last in upper case letters, then the last four digits of your University ID(UAID) number. This number is also referred to as your student or employee ID number and it is printed on the back of your worlfcard. If your name were Jane A Smith and your ID number were 30345678, your default password would be uaaJAS5678.
Username management - you can change your password, add an email alias, set a forwarding address or change your directory information at directory update.
