Accessibility Suite from Premier Assistive Technology
Article Number: 7924

The University of Alaska Anchorage was awarded a grant valued at $60,000 allowing the installation of the following adaptive software programs on UAA computers.

 

Scan and Read Pro

Full-powered scanning application with full voice capabilities for reading combined with electronic document creation (including multi-lingual support in the Pro version) with easy-to-use controls that get you up and running quickly. Place a book on a scanner, press a button and Scan and Read will read the page to you. Also includes Predictor Pro, comprehensive word prediction technology.

 

Ultimate Talking Dictionary

The Ultimate Talking Dictionary is a comprehensive, unabridged dictionary with an integrated thesaurus. The UTD works with any program and virtually no typing is required. Just highlight the desired word in a body of text, press a key and the UTD reads the definition to you AND presents a list of synonyms & antonyms. The UTD has over 250,000 words, including slang, jargon and historical names and places. Powerful INTERLINK technology even lets you find a word when you don’t know the exact word. The UTD has special features that will allow it to work with other assistive technologies (e.g. screen readers).

 

Universal Reader with Talking Pointer
The Universal Reader is a very easy to use utility that reads to you. The best part is that it works with virtually any application. Use it to read your email, your word documents, even PDF files. It is as simple as selecting what you want to read, then click on the floating toolbar and it starts to read. It takes about 2 minutes to install and even less time to learn how to use it.

 

Universal Reader Plus
All the great features of our Universal Reader PLUS the added benefit of our New “Exact Match” Scanning Technology. Full-color scanning with page and image retention. Ideal for getting documents into your computer quickly.

 

Talking Word Processor
A fully speaking word processor that saves files in standard MS WORD format. An excellent tool for teaching word processing. Great aid for general literacy, LD / ADHD and even as a convenient proofreading tool. Also includes Predictor Pro, comprehensive word prediction technology.

 

Text to Audio
A high-end application that can take existing digitized text files and convert them to multiple standard audio formats (e.g. WAVE, MP3). Use Text to Audio to create your own “books on tape” quickly and easily. Other features include our Clear Audio technology, bookmarking, auto-segmentation of audio and writing directly to CD’s.

 

Text Cloner Pro
Scanning applications with full OCR (Optical Character Recognition). Great companions to users who already have screen reader software. This revolutionary one-touch scanning works with virtually any scanner. Place a book or other document on a scanner with a press of a button the text appears on your computer screen.

 

Scan and View
A low-cost alternative to Closed Circuit TV. Scan and View is designed to help those who cannot see fine detail, or need thing enlarged. Place your phone bill on a scanner press a button, and enlarge it so that you can read the fine print. Use it to look at pictures and graphs, no matter how large you need

 

PDF Magic
PDF Magic is an easy-to-use tool that can convert any PDF file to a variety of standard accessible formats such as MS WORD, TXT, RTF and HTML. It even works with all types of encrypted files and with our “Exact Match” technology retains original document format for tables, columns, color graphics, etc. Handles 155 printed languages.

 

E-Text Reader
The E-Text Reader is designed to help those who have trouble reading or comprehending the printed word. There are thousands of literature titles now available in electronic format. We developed the E-Text Reader will read (using digital voices) the electronic version of books (“E-Books, or E-Text”) to you. The E-Text Reader can read any document in Standard Text, MS Word, RTF (“Rich Text Format”) and HTML formats. This E-Text Reader will help anyone who needs documents read to them.

 

Talking Calculator
A fully functional speaking calculator. In addition to talking, it also shows your work so you can cut and paste it into another document.

 

Complete Reading System
A standalone system for blind users that can scan and read a wide variety of text placed on a standard scanner. Also uses simple, straightforward user controls for ease of use. Also works great for people who have limited mobility. The simple interface makes learning the Complete Reading System a snap.

 

Off Limits
OFF Limits is a new talking Internet browser. It is ideal for anyone who has difficulty reading web pages. You simply highlight what you want the browser to read to you, click the read button and OFF Limits starts reading to you. OFF Limits can even let you take the Internet with you, by turning a web page into an audio file that you can put on a CD or MP3 player, so you can listen to it anywhere.

 

Talking Checkbook
The Talking Checkbook is designed to make account management and check writing truly accessible. The Talking Checkbook has a simple interface that makes managing any bank account easy. You can use it to manage a checking, savings or even a retirement account. It is designed for individuals who find it difficult to write in small areas and for those who find simple math difficult. You will find using the Talking Checkbook quicker and much easier than manually writing checks.

* Please note that these applications come with AT&T Natural Voices which can be set as the default voice for other programs that read out loud like Microsoft Word and Adobe Reader.
