Content Management System
UAA adopted the use of CommonSpot Content Management System (CMS) by Paperthin. The CMS is built using ColdFusion scripting and resides on a UNIX platform. The CMS provides an easy way for departments to manage content through web forms without the need to have scripting skills, such as HTML, ColdFusion, ASP, and ASP.NET. All Administrative department web sites should be using the CMS. Academic units (colleges and schools) are also eligible to use the CMS. These projects involve the entire college or school.
General Web Hosting
Organizational web sites hosted on UAA's webspace have the website URL http://sitename.uaa.alaska.edu/. The hosting server is a Win 2003 server. The hosting server provides the ability to create custom scripts using ColdFusion, Frontpage Server Extensions or ASP. For ColdFusion data-driven sites, a datasource can be requested. Below are some of the options available with general web hosting.
