Blackboard’s export feature that allows you tosave your course as a zip file to your local computer is working very slow forcourses with assessments, question pools or surveys. IT Engineers areinvestigating solutions to workaround the issue and restore import/exportspeeds. Here are some workarounds that can help you get ready for the semesteruntil we can rectify this issue.
- If you are moving an old course to a new shell, use “Course Copy” instead of “Export course” or “Archive Course”. The course copy feature allows you to duplicate one course into another and is not affected by the import/export issue.
- If your course does not use assessments, question pools, or polls then do not choose those components when exporting your course. Skipping assessments will make export run at normal speed.
- If you must export a course containing assessments, question pools, or polls, and it is not working from your browser, then call the Callcenter. They have administrative tools directly on the server and can get you your zip file in 24 hours.
