Unified Messaging vs Voice Mail Only
Article Number: 16015

Voice Mail Only (VMO)

Phones setup with Voice Mail Only give users the ability to login to their voice mail, customize settings, set voice greetings, and check new and saved messages.  This is the default voice mail account setup for phones on the UAA campus.

Unified Messaging

Unified messaging is only available for UAA staff and faculty who receive e-mail through the Microsoft Exchange service.  Exchange users who request Unified Messaging have the convenience of having a copy of their voice mail messages forwarded to their Microsoft Exchange mailbox in the form of an e-mail attachment.  From the inbox, users are able to open this attachment and listen to their voice mail through their computer speakers.
